Terms of service

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated 19 September 2026. If anything here is unclear, ask before you agree: hello@rostru.com.

The agreement

These terms are between the business that creates a Rostru account (the "venue", "you") and the operator of Rostru ("we"). By creating an account you agree to them. Staff who use the Rostru app do so under their venue’s account; the privacy policy explains what that means for them.

If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

What Rostru is

A web app for building and publishing rosters, a phone app for staff, attendance checked against the roster with an optional geofence, and timesheet exports for payroll. It warns about clashes, rest gaps and long weeks. It does not interpret awards, calculate penalty rates or run payroll — your payroll process does that, and it remains your responsibility.

Your account

Sign-in is by emailed one-time code or link. Keep your email account secure; anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think an account has been misused.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter about your venues and staff, for having the right to enter them, and for what people you make managers do in the app.

Plans, trial and payment

Rostru is free for venues rostering up to four people. Larger venues choose a paid plan, priced by how many people they roster in a month; the current prices are on the pricing page and in the app. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

Paid plans start with a 30-day free trial. No card is required to start; if you have not chosen a plan when the trial ends, the account keeps its data for 90 days and asks you to choose one before rostering continues.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. You can change plan at any time; the difference is pro-rated from that day. You can cancel at any time; the plan runs until the end of the period already paid for, and we do not refund partial months.

If a payment fails we will tell you and retry. If it keeps failing the account is treated as lapsed until it is fixed.

We may change prices with 30 days’ notice by email; the change applies from your next billing period after that.

Your data

Everything you and your staff put into Rostru remains yours. We use it only to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes. You can export it as CSV at any time and ask us to delete it.

You are the employer of the people you roster. Record-keeping obligations under Australian workplace law are yours; Rostru helps you meet them by keeping rosters and approved hours for seven years, but it is not a substitute for your own compliance.

Where staff locations are collected at clock-on, you are responsible for telling your staff in the way your state’s workplace surveillance laws require. The app shows staff a plain-language consent screen before the first clock-on, and location can be refused.

Acceptable use

Do not use Rostru to break the law, to collect information about people you do not employ, to attempt to access another venue’s data, to overload or reverse-engineer the service, or to send spam through it. We may suspend an account that does.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Rostru available around the clock and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced in the app. Support is by email at hello@rostru.com.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Rostru is provided as is, and our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue, or for decisions you make on the basis of warnings the app shows or does not show.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from the app or by emailing us. We can end the agreement on 30 days’ notice, or at once if you breach it. On ending, your data is kept for 90 days for you to export, then deleted.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use Rostru after that is acceptance. These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
