Staff read exactly this on the consent screen before they ever grant permission. Clocking on needs the venue's fence, so it needs location at that moment — and nothing else in the app does.
Only around shifts
The geofence is registered half an hour before a rostered shift and dropped after clock-off. No rostered shift, no location watching.
A point, not a trail
We keep the one coordinate at clock-on and clock-off, with its accuracy — never a continuous track of where anyone went.
Kept for as long as you set
90 days by default, then deleted. Managers see whether the clock was inside the fence, not a map of someone’s day.
Foreground only
Location is read once when they tap clock on, inside the venue’s fence. Never in the background, and the rest of the app works without it.
